Singapore Wine Week organisers said two consecutive world records for a single 750ml bottle of Château Mouton Rothschild 1945 were set at its Grand Cellar Auction, held on 4 October at The Laurus, Resorts World Sentosa.

Lot 286 sold for S$80,000 before buyer’s premium, followed moments later by Lot 287 at S$100,000, according to the organisers.

According to organisers, the previous benchmark for a standard 750ml bottle dated to a 2016 Sotheby’s New York auction, when a 10-bottle lot from collector Bill Koch’s cellar sold for US$343,000, or about US$34,300 per bottle. A separate record for a 3-litre Jeroboam of the 1945 vintage was set at Sotheby’s in New York in 2007, though organisers said larger formats are not directly comparable with standard bottles.

Integrated resort partner

The auction formed part of Singapore Wine Week 2026, presented by Impeccable APAC and Park90, with Resorts World Sentosa as the event’s Official Integrated Resort Partner. Lots included rare vintages and mature bottles from Burgundy, Bordeaux, Champagne and the New World, drawn from private cellars and estates.

Andreas Reich, Senior Vice President, Hospitality at Resorts World Sentosa, commented on the result and the resort’s role in the event.

“We are delighted that Singapore Wine Week 2026 has achieved such a remarkable milestone at Resorts World Sentosa,” Reich said. “The record-setting auction underscores the growing stature of Singapore as a destination for exceptional gastronomic and luxury experiences, while reflecting the increasing sophistication of the region’s fine wine community. As the Official Integrated Resort Partner, we are proud to provide a world-class setting where collectors, connoisseurs and industry leaders can come together to celebrate a shared passion for wine, culture and excellence.”

Singapore Wine Week 2026 also featured the Judgement of Singapore, a double-blind tasting programme involving Masters of Wine, Master Sommeliers and wine professionals examining changes in wine styles over 50 years.
