Avis Singapore has introduced a self-service kiosk for collecting rental vehicles, following rollouts in the United Kingdom, Italy and France. The company said the automated system reduces pick-up time to under 30 seconds and removes the need to queue at a counter.
How the kiosk works
The kiosk replaces the traditional counter process with an automated sequence that begins before departure. Avis Preferred or President Club members complete a one-time driving licence verification ahead of travel, removing documentation checks on arrival. A link with an access code is then sent by email before departure, ready for use once the traveller lands.
At the kiosk, travellers enter their access code and collect their vehicle keys, a process Avis said takes under 30 seconds. The company said the kiosk is available across both locations, putting travellers in control of their pick-up from arrival.
Membership access
Access to the kiosk requires an Avis Preferred account, which the company said is free to join. Avis said the membership extends beyond kiosk access, offering savings, priority service and partner privileges that accumulate across rentals, including short-term and long-term hire.
