Singapore Airlines (SIA) is introducing a next-generation version of its KrisWorld in-flight entertainment system alongside high-speed connectivity, the carrier said on 22 October 2026.
The new system includes 4K high-resolution touchscreen displays, with OLED screens on selected aircraft and cabin classes, spatial audio, active noise-cancellation headphones, and Bluetooth pairing for personal headphones. SIA said the redesigned interface includes enhanced search and filtering, a mini-player, and shortcuts to preferred content categories. The airline said it will offer more than 2,500 entertainment options, curated and refreshed monthly.
SIA said the system will also include a wellness planner with sleep and meditation tracks, breathing exercises, and in-seat stretches.
Rollout across fleet
SIA said the next-generation KrisWorld will be introduced on 41 retrofitted Airbus A350-900 long-haul and A350-900 ultra-long-range aircraft, entering service progressively from 2027, as well as on its upcoming Boeing 777-9 aircraft. Specific features vary by aircraft type and cabin class, according to the airline.
First Class cabins will feature 32-inch 4K touchscreens, while Business Class displays will be up to 22 inches, SIA said. On the Boeing 777-9, Premium Economy Class screens will be up to 16 inches and Economy Class screens up to 13 inches.
First Class customers will receive Bang & Olufsen Bluetooth wireless headphones with active noise cancellation, while Business Class and Premium Economy customers will receive active noise-cancellation headphones, SIA said. Economy Class customers will be offered wired earphones, with the option to pair personal Bluetooth headphones.
Connectivity and customer feedback
High-speed connectivity through Starlink’s low Earth orbit satellite broadband will be introduced progressively from early 2027 on SIA’s Airbus A380, A350-900 long-haul, and A350-900ULR aircraft. SIA said customers travelling in Suites, First Class, and Business Class, along with PPS Club and KrisFlyer members in Premium Economy and Economy Class, will continue to receive unlimited complimentary Wi-Fi on Starlink-enabled aircraft.
Yeoh Phee Teik, Senior Vice President Customer Experience at Singapore Airlines, explained the thinking behind the changes.
“Our customers told us that they wanted more choice and flexibility in how they spend their time on board, as well as entertainment and connectivity that fit more naturally into their journey,” Yeoh said. “This guided the development of SIA’s next-generation KrisWorld and connectivity offering, which make it easier to discover and enjoy content, stay in touch with loved ones, and move seamlessly between entertainment and other activities during the flight.”
SIA said the enhanced KrisWorld and connectivity form part of a wider update to its travel experience, alongside new long-haul cabin products, refreshed dining, new amenities, and enhanced ground services. The airline said this new travel experience will be unveiled in Singapore in November 2026.
