The Singapore Tourism Board has revoked the travel agent licence of Sheen Yeow Travel Pte. Ltd., under licence number TA 03330. The revocation took effect from 6 October 2026, under the Travel Agents Act 1975. Sheen Yeow Travel is no longer permitted to carry out any travel agent activities.
STB said the revocation was made under Section 9(1)(b) of the Travel Agents Act 1975. The board said it has reason to believe the company contravened Section 13(b) of the Act by submitting false financial statements for some years. STB described this as an offence involving dishonesty.
Financial statement concerns
Under Regulation 14(b) of the Travel Agents Regulations 2017, travel agents must submit financial statements to STB each year. STB said its review of Sheen Yeow Travel’s submissions raised concerns about the authenticity of the financial information provided.
Sheen Yeow Travel must refund all existing customers or hand over its existing obligations to licensed travel agents to fulfil, STB said.
Industry oversight
STB said it takes a serious view against errant travel agents and will not hesitate to take necessary action to protect the reputation of Singapore’s travel industry. The board directed members of the public to its Travel Related Users’ System website for an up-to-date list of licensed travel agents.
